Started hearing an annoying rattle while accelerating sometimes and I went to check it out this weekend. Curious if anyone else's exhaust has this much play in it (about 0.5" back and forth). It's hard to hear, but the cat is making a good amount of scratching/grinding noise when I move this and it's not difficult to move.

I checked all the exhaust hangers and they all look perfectly happy, so I'm wondering what's up or if I just never noticed this play in the exhaust before. Perhaps the cat itself is what needs replacing and that's why it's making so much noise and moves so freely.

(Ignore the rust belt erosion, which actually isn't terrible for almost 9 years) :)

C'mon dude, just plop the photo, i dont want to sign into Gphotos to see it :)

Define play? Cause the rubber hangers can allow for a decent amount of play.

It's a video, otherwise I would have. Site doesn't have Google Photos as a valid video site and I was too lazy to download it then re-upload to YouTube or something. :)

They've got a decent amount of play, but my cat is pretty dang noisy when moving everything back and forth - how bad is yours?

Its not, even when i had the stock on still. If they havent changed it prior to the 16.5 crossover, then the "mid pipe" containing the cat, res and back section should bolt to the header right past the flex section. So, if the muffler and mid section is moving too much, its possible the hanger at the flex or after the cat is either broken or the flex is dying.

Did you try just plopping the vid here without tags?

That's what I'm leaning towards too. And yeah, the site won't take the upload, it only likes URLs. I'm almost certain all the hangers from the cat onward looked great, but I'll get it on ramps and check more closely.

There's some sideways movement on mine which I think is caused by the rubber hangers but there's not much back and forward movement from what I can feel or see on mine. All is pretty tight.

I'll try and get one of my kids to film it tomorrow whilst I wiggle the exhaust as this attempt ain't the best....
