Hi all!

I'm new here but very happy to join the club ;) Looking to buy a Mazda6 and keep it on the long term, I have 2 prospect cars.

Mazda6 GT 2004
125 000 Km /
Fully equiped
Automatic
About 8000$ CAD

Mazda6 GT 2005
112 000 Km
Fully equiped
Manual transmission
Roof rack
About 9900$ CAD

Automatic vs manual I don't care.
Except I fear problem with auto transmission on the long term. Am I right ?

And what are the biggest differences on 2004 vs 2005 models. Is there some reliability issues with 2004 introductory model ?

They are very nearly identical.

If you go automatic, definitely go with the 2005 as it has a 6spd auto that's much stronger and better in every way than the 5spd the 2004 came with. Otherwise, it's a toss-up.

So, for manual, take your pick. For automatic, take the 05.

Thanks pal for the answer! The '05 is manual tough. My error. Just edited my post. So I suppose 2005 will be a clear winner.

I have an 04 wagon with auto, I love the auto but everyday I wish I would have found a manual to better exploit the V6 power plant.

I'd go with the 2005 if it didn't had roof racks

As stated before, besides the transmissions, they're about the same.

IMO, take the '05 with MTX.
