So I just bought some 18 x 8.5 inch et30 rims. Will 235/40/18 or 245/40/18 rub at all? I'm driving the 2005 mazda 6 gt wagon. It's not lowered at all and the fenders are not rolled.

I recently grabbed some Evo 10 wheels that are 18x8.5 +38 with Yokohama Advan Apex v601's on 235/40/18. On stock suspension, you will not rub however take into consideration that I run -2 degrees of camber all around so I cannot say for sure for you. Also, your offset is pretty low, it might potentially rub. Good luck!

Using a site like this will help you with visualizing it. Also keep in mind fenders are not the only thing that can rub - control arms, struts can also get in the way (unsure about the 6 though).

Ouch, +30? Why? I did the calc and was lucky that +55 will set my wheels right where i want them cause a set of Enkei PF01s came up with RE-71R's in 245/40/18 for a cool $1000 and they look new. Around half tire life left too. I wanted them to sit further inward instead of outside so i could use up the 1" or more space between the wheel and suspension.

It’s good for the tire size that I want and fitment looks proper with the camber I run. Great grip and I have no rubbing issues

If I remember correctly, there was a small L-bracket on the firewall that held a wire harness that the brace came in contact with - I just bent it a little to give it clearance. No such item on the Fusion (Milan) to block it.

So your saying I can adjust the stance with just the camber arms and stock suspension?
No, hes an idiot. You cant adjust that with those wheels, you can only lower the car which will cause issues. Do you have spacers on?

Yes get front and rear camber arms and then get an alignment. With your offset you should have it at -2.8° all around. It’s not going to fix your ride height though, but the car won’t have monster truck fitment
Thats fucking horrid advice you dolt. All thats gonna do is decrease grip and drivability and trash the tires.

no spacers.
Well, then you need to get a higher offset, or deal with your paint getting trashed from the crap the tires will toss all over it. Or fender flares i guess...

I was worried about this as well. Running neg camber is probably only good on the track and at high speeds, but maybe 1 or 2 degrees would be safe?

I'm satisfied with the offset, the rear wheel sits close to perfect. Drove it to work and back today in the rain and there is no mud or anything around the fenders so looks to be good.
I was thinking about using those camber arms to tuck those wheels in just right but than again I don't feel like spending another $500,

-1 to 1.5 is about as much as id run, even then the tire wear will be increased. The reason the rears look better is the track is 5mm slimmer on each side than the front. I ran a 25mm spacer on the stock wheels on the front and with the tire peeking this much, would get shit all over my car until i went with a 20mm spacer.

Also, camber will only correct the top of the wheel, not the rear end, so youll still get splatter without mudflaps.

Right on, that's pretty close to what mine looks like, plus the corners of my tires are rounded so the actual contact is more into the fender. I doubt I'll end up doing the camber arms. I got a new grille coming in the mail this week so that'll satisfy my itch for now. Maybe in a couple years I'll go all out and get coil overs.

I take my 6 to the track quite often, and LOTS of canyon driving up the windy roads so I benefit from this. Rotation and Corning grip is enhanced in sacrifice for tire life, and im fine with that because tires don’t last me more than 10,000 miles. for someone who only commutes the camber is not necessary
