cannot wait to see if the turbo version makes less than 6 sec in the 0-60mph test
It will definitely be interesting. These things have a 4.09 final drive and it gets out of second gear at I believe 56ish MPH (don't quote, its just what I observed at a blink of an eye). Needless to say, having to shift gears twice before hitting 60mph always impacts 0-60 a little more than one would like. So whenever it is published, it may not adequately depict really how quick this thing gets up and goes...it is definitely fast.

I'm more interested in the 1/4 mile time myself with the 4.09 final drive. Final drive gears that high will have a marked impact on 1/4 mile time. Wouldn't be surprised if we see low 14s with this. You get some good air density and you might see high 13s - could be a pipe dream though...it's been a looooong time since I drag raced anything legitimately

Yet here I am less than an hour away from Epping NH Dragway -- a sea level drag strip that can get some awesome air density...maybe I should make a trip after C&D or MT publish their road tests

Interesting... The "formal" Mazda launch event is tomorrow (Tuesday), yet there's at least a half-dozen forum members that already own one, and others (including me) that have driven one or two...
That is definitely interesting. I would have to say the "official reveal" was done back in L.A. when it live-streamed. But hey, spending time with the engineers and designers in an open forum -- that's pretty darn cool of Mazda to do!

Would love to find out if they have plans for an aero kit on this thing, or if I'm going to be retro-fitting a 2017...

Mazda is looking into a dealer-installed summer tire option.
About f**kin' time!

Now, though, the Accord faces its biggest challenge not from another luxury automaker but from the cheeky underdogs at Mazda (and Honda should be glad Mazda doesn’t have anywhere near the same R&D budget).
Now if I were a Mazda engineer, this line would both pay a HUGE compliment and annoy me at the same time. Imagine if Mazda DID have Honda's R&D budget... :)

Sometimes less is more. :)
Seriously, what has Honda really done with that huge R&D budget? IMO squandered it on questionable corporate ID and a rushed refresh of Civic and ILX.

Motor Trend's description of the handling is consistent with my test drive. I thought it steered like a Benz. Interesting, too, since that's what the reviews said about the 1988 626 Turbo when it came out. I think this car will be phenomenal with summer tires (although I'd be tempted to trade down for a set of Sport 17" wheels).

KBB just released their 2018 Mazda6 Signature First Review, and it's a favorable overview although not too detailed.
I'm still unable to post links, but you can find it with a quick search for "KBB 2018 Mazda6 Signature First Review".

Blogger drives new Sig with Mazda rep in back seat. Horrible quality video and guys in car are decided not enthusiasts IMO.

Mazda rep does offer some interesting tidbits. But no one can beat Dave Coleman's gearheaded-ness.
