For general cleaning and upkeep I would suggest a very good microfiber towel and warm water. I would not use any cleaners unless absolutely necessary.

If it is dirty or stained I would suggest this.

Again, I would not use a cleaner unless necessary.

This will help:

I bought the brissel brush, liquid cleaner, and edgeless towel. I have the Parchment interior/suede.

I've only had to use the liquid cleaner once where a mechanic got a fingerprint on the door. Good as new - so the stuff does work.

Otherwise I just use the brissel brush and edgeless coth (dry) when needed - typically about once a month when I clean the rest of the interior and condition the seats. 18k miles in and everything still looks brand new.

Hope that helps

I thought the steering wheel cover and others are covered by leather, the stitches got me. Thanks to that article, now I know it's not.

I just use Microtex Sunshield Protectant which is available locally to us. I'll check that Car Guys and hope that it's also available.

Ultrasuede is essentially Alcantara (patented), it's a durable and resilient material with a soft finish that can be easily cared for, it isn't any more difficult than leather, unless something hard literally scrapes the material smooth, ruining the finish all together.

The best info on the subject will be found on the detailing forums, my personal starting point that has served me well while working on a NOBLE and doing some spot cleaning for a client's Murcielago is here:

Sonax Alcantara cleaner will be your friend! :)

Generally speaking most people have not heard of Sonax.

When looking for a specific product for your car they make one for just about everything.

Their products are as good or better than anyone else makes. The only possible drawback is they are not the least expensive.... Their Leather conditioner is the only product I use/will use on anything Leather for the interior.

WHAT!?

Sheesh!

I am going to go do an inspection to ensure nothing was damaged during my CarPlay install.

Wow, that is expensive!

Fun fact, if you ever screw the suede up on the door panel as to where you wanted to buy a new one - the door panel itself is $1700! Absolutely insane. I believe Mazda does this with Signature trim stuff to protect the integrity of the trim. I remember my buddy at the dealership telling me the Wood trim in the CX9 center console is something stupid like $6000 - yes, thousand.

So moral of the story here, the wood and suede components are crazy expensive to replace if ever needed. So Take care of your interior! Obviously you could just get an upholstery shop to try and match for much cheaper I'm sure, but from an OEM standpoint, it'll never be worth the price tag.

We recently test drove a snowflake/parchment Mazda6 and we saw a couple dirty fingerprints on the ultra suede on the door. The salesman said a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works great and proceeded to clean it with a little 409 and the magic eraser. It worked!
