Turn the voice level down all the way and see if it does it. Should be on the Audio settings page under Guidance Level.

I would double check the infotainment systems software. The newest version is 74.00.230 and should be installed when you get the chance. Another thing you can try is go into the infotainment diag screen by turning the car on and holding down the volume select dial, the favorites button, and the music button. Then you can scroll to either left or right but you’re looking for what’s called the “speaker cyclic test” it will go around the vehicle and test each speaker. If the door speaker you think is broken doesn’t make a sound during it it may be broken. Do you have the bose sound system?

Are you using Android Auto or Apple Carplay when that happens?

A few months ago there was a bug with Waze and Apple Carplay. When you weren't using Waze, it would mute the driver side front speaker as if it was sending navigation prompts, but it wasn't.

The workaround was to input a navigation destination in Waze, then cancel it.

So I would drive the car without using your phone at all to eliminate a problem with an app. No Bluetooth, no Apple Carplay or Android Auto. And no Mazda Navigation, of course.

The fix for these issues actually is 74.00.230. I know some of the members on here are a little skeptical of updating their software but if it’s done correctly and the system hasn’t been previously corrupted there really shouldn’t be any issues.

My Mazda6 Sport Nav was cutting the driver speaker of for a couple of seconds intermittently and what appeared to be at random. My sat nav volume was at 0 BUT when I checked further it was set to audio notify for speed cameras and speed limit exceeds. So it was giving audio warnings at 0volume doh. Disabled these and problems solved
