Hi All,
Ran a diag on my car after a dash light came on (P!). States to replace restraint control module. Link to amazon takes me to an airbag module. Is this the same? Any guidance will be great. Thanks

Give your dealer a call with the code it could be mazda specific
Well yes I am sure it's Mazda specific. I'm sure you mean call their parts department? My dealer here will tell me to take it in and I'm trying to avoid getting gouged with a costs. I usually try and tackle it myself before going there. Was hoping to see if there was anyone on here that might have run into the same issue.

Thanks!

Some dealers are quite helpful. You really need to pull the codes because a misfire can be caused by many things. Even a bad tank of cheap gas.
If you want to start paying and replacing good parts based on what people tell you here that's cool too.
Get a good code reader.

Yes but mine is not LOL. It's hit or miss when I go there or call them. Maybe by initial post didn't come across correctly. I do have a code reader. This wasn't what someone was telling me. The first time the light came on, I ran it. The light went away the next time I restarted my car. I then cleared the code. The other day the light came on again and I ran a diagnostic and again the same code came up. So back to my same question. Is the Restraint Control Module the same as the Airbag Control Module? I guess I can give Mazda parts a call and see what they say :)
I appreciate your responses :)

Based on your codes and the DTC tables provided by a certain someone those codes are all pointing to an internal failure of the SAS control module. The only repair is replacement and I would recommend buying a new one as you don’t want things going wrong with airbags. Also the vehicle will need reprogramming after installation so you probably will have to take it to a dealer for that. They shouldn’t charge you more than an hour of labor or they might be rippin you off lol.

A brief search for the air bag module took me to the center console and under the hand brake for many Mazda's, 2010-2017. Your description states restraint control module, no doubt the same thing but using more impressive words. I would call in the codes to dealer for conformation to be sure.
Additional info from Internet.
Repairing Mazda Airbag Module
If your Mazda is involved in an accident crash codes will get stored in the airbag module. Those codes can not be cleared with an airbag scanner. The dealer will recommend that the airbag module needs to be replaced.
A cheaper alternative is to remove the airbag module from the vehicle and send it to a specialist to reset the module to original settings.

You can find third party vendors that will reset your Mazda airbag module on sites like eBay.
