Hi,
I recommended the 2016 Mazda 6 with the i Grand touring trim to a friend of mine in Latin America. He says that he likes the vehicle and is considering importing one from the U.S. with the Technology package. But he says that the mechanics in his country may have difficulty maintaining the i-eloop technology in the vehicle. He likes the safety features in the Technology package, but wants to know if there is a way to disconnect/disable the i-eloop technology in the vehicle. He's concerned his mechanic might get electrocuted messing with it! Does an easy way exist to do this? Or is it not possible? Thanks. I don't own one either at the moment. But the vehicle has a lot of bells and whistles, which is why I recommended it to him. It's always best if you can drive a vehicle before you purchase it - even a brand new one. They all have a different feel to them. I don't think he'll have an issue buying a well-maintained used Mazda 6, though.

Its not your friends responsibility to worry about his mechanics safety, if they arent competent enough, maybe they shouldnt work on cars? But no, i dont think you can "disable" it cause theres a physical component to it (capacitor).
