Hi,

I’m a newbie here, so apologies if this has been covered before.
I have a 2010 Mazda 6 and I have taken the battery out of my key fob. Now, the key and fob will unlock the car but won’t lock it.
I’ve followed the turn on/off ignition and open/close door 3 times etc instructions, but this hasn’t worked. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Is it possible that the key fob is already dirty that it is no longer making contract when you press it? In that case, I'll try to spray a contact cleaner and then press the button several times as I spray it. Please remove the battery before doing it.

Hi. Thank you for your reply and suggestion.

The red light on the fob is activated when I press the button, so I don’t think it’s a contact issue.
