hi please help before my wife kills me i am first off a fully qualified mechanic but have limited experiance with mazdas we have a 2007 mazda 6 turbo diesel had the dpf removed reprogrammed by national company thought all was well but car started using excessive oil replaced turbo made a small improvement came to conclusion that the engine at 132000 was worn out and needed replacement engines are not cheap or plentifull so bought a 2005 with knackered gearbox for a grand drove car home from bristol uk to dorset about 80 miles car drove fine am now in the middle of swopping the engine and so far everything attatched to bare engine is different and needs swopping but the dmf is shagged 05 has no timing teeth 07 does (07 is 6 speed 05 only five )im using 6 speed box crank sensor is gearbox mounted on 07 and crank pully on 05 so need 07 flywheel will all this function when ive finished or should i give up now as the injectors look to be different too (internal spill pipes in 07 external in 05) why did they change so much we like the car but its cripplingly expensive to repair im at the end of my patience with it its causing arguements now please help yopu may save my marriage !!!:eek:

I don't see why it won't work as long as you can hook up all the sensors in the correct position, i presume the bare block is the same, just what's bolted to it is differant?
I've not heard of anyone doing this conversion otherwise i'd point you in the right direction, like you i've not had much dealing with Mazdas before.

From the information I have. The engine design was changed 2005 as from this date was the first time Mazda had put the DPF on. It was their first experiment! The injector seals are a service item and should be replaced every 120,000 miles, along with the injectors. My original injector seals were still good at 165,000 miles before I changed then and the original injectors only really started to cause exhaust smoke at 175,000 miles. But I had the car from new and have had it meticulously serviced.
