How do I determine which 2.5 I have?

I tried to look up some parts for my 2014 Mazda 6 and I ran across this designation when 'selecting my vehicle'.

2.5 2488CC L4 FI VIN 5

OR

2.5 2488CC L4 FI VIN 6

Does anyone know what this means? How I can tell if my car is a VIN 6 or a VIN 5? What difference can it make when it comes to parts?

Thanks in 'Advance' which is also a clue as to where I am looking for parts. :)

If you look on the Mazda website and compare the engine specs you'll see under the emission control type field that the 2016 M6 has "Tier2 Bin5 /PZEV30" and the 2017 M6 has "Tier3 Bin30 /PZEV". So it obviously has something to do with the level of emission controls on the engines. This is further supported by a post I found on Mazda3Forums where someone posted this:

I've concluded the following about the 8th digit:

F = 2.0 non-Skyactiv, standard emissions
G = 2.0 non-Skyactiv, low emissions
7 = 2.0 [ame="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008UDQOZ4"]Skyactiv[/ame], standard emissions
8 = 2.0 Skyactiv, low emissions
P = 2.0 Skyactiv (but I don't know how this is different from 7 or 8)

5 = 2.5 standard emissions
6 = 2.5 low emissions
9 = 2.5 (again, I don't know how this is different from 5 or 6)

3 = 2.3 [ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=automotive&keywords=mazdaspeed%2Bturbo&linkCode=ur2"]Mazdaspeed turbo[/ame], standard emissions
4 = 2.3 Mazdaspeed turbo, low emissions
