The 2.3 L are finally here in Hong Kong. It basic model costs about hk $199,000 ($30,000 above the 2.0 L). Gosh! I should have waited a little longer. Well, I like my 2.0 L and will aim for Rx-8 as my next car.

That price would be equal to a fully loaded version here in the US (v6, sports package, 5 speed auto). That still excludes tax though. We only have the sedan here.

I would never dream of owning a car in singapore. My parents are from singapore/malaysia and we have alot of relatives at SG. My uncle was telling me how he paid like 80K AUD for a little honda civic, I could buy a second hand porche with that. :|

I am in ShenZhen, China for business, and to my surprise, I have already seen 3 or 4 Mazda6 in the past 2 days I am here. Are they the same as HongKong version?

We are not proud of this though. I have to say the system here means a car has a certain 'value' built-in and this can be translated into $$ if a car is scrapped. You can use this to offset the high taxes when buying a new car. Still....

Mainland China versions of the Mazda6 are assembled in China, whereas the HK version is from Japan.

There are 3 assembly locations for the Mazda6: China (for China only), USA (for N. America), and Japan (everywhere else).
