Will a set of 17x7 inch +50 offset rims with 215/50 tires fit on the Speed6 without rubbing?
[/b]
Considering the stock is 18x7.5. Yes is correct.
The Question would be WHY???
You loose an inch in rotational mass from 18 to 17. And the 50 series is only compensating
for less than 1/2" of the loss. So the Speedo will be off, as the dynamics, due to more sidewall
flex and .5 rim width to help the footprint.
Just wondering

The better question is "Will V6mazdaguy search before posting next time?"

The answer SHOULD BE yes.

18x7 is a terrible size. I'd rather have 17x7's with 225/45/17's. But better yet, I'd rather have 17x8's with 225/45/17's.

Wrong on 2 counts. Stock is 18X7 and 215/59-17 is only off by 1.5% or so, perfectly acceptable to the speedo and computer...

17x8's would be some great track size wheels. When I do start to race it on the track. That's what I'm going to go with.

The OEM tire has an OD of 25.7. The 215/50-17 has an OD of ~25.5, .2 inches smaller. The 225/50-17 is .2 inches over the OEM OD, provides an extra 10mm in tread width.

I am looking into a 17-18 pound 17 inch wheel with a performance all season 225/50-17 tire. The roads in SE Michigan are brutal on an 18 inch 45 series tire w/ 38 psi. I didn't notice the ride during my initial roads tests. I suspect the roads were better near the dealership and the tires may not have been pumped to 38 psi.
