ok, so i was driving back from SEMA and ive had my radio out a few times already, but i never really looked to see if the radio itself could actually be removed. Now if per chance, i can get it out, i could easily laser cut black plexi to fit in the hole. Has anyone really tried this yet??? yeah i know only a single din would go, but hell if i could make it retain the factory piece, and not have to buy a whole kit, wouldnt that make our lives easier??? i think that will be my project tommorrow night. I'll grab some pics and the such if it will work. Let me see if i can come up with something. i stared at the dash for like 3 hours while sitting in traffic, and i figure there has got to be a way to do it easily. I.m pretty much at the point of, screw metra and scosche ill make it myself................ lol

that could work. you'd need to leave the factory radio in the car though. using forward & reverse harnesses the factory radio could be re-routed up behind the glove box (if it'll fit) or back to the trunk. there's another little harness too that may need to be extended. keep us up to date. i was looking at a solution like this myself.

well it doesnt look too good really. i did in fact seperte the radio from the dash piece. but the hazard switch has a small ribbon cable to it, and the climate controls have 2 6 pin connectors that attach to the radio bezel. i want to know what crackhead engineer thought thus was a good idea. i would love to beat him/her with a stick..........ughhhh this is going to be a PITA
