My Mazda 6 has an issue shifting when the A/C is on. On the highway it will drop down into 3rd gear. At slower speeds it shifts hard. Has anyone experienced this? If so, what was the fix?? Thanks for the help. 😊

The battery light comes on until I shut it off and start it again

What engine?
does the A/C work or is it non-op?
3rd gear only is usually limp mode.

I'm not 100% on the belt routing, but you may have an issue with the belt slipping and the transmission oil pump and alternator are not getting power.

2.3L 4 cylinder. Yes A/C works just drops to 3 gear when A/C is on traveling down highway.

OK, so your A/C compressor isn't seized. So next check belts for tension. It might be slipping.
