Ok, so I just bought my used 2003 Mazda6 a few months ago. A few days after having it I tried putting a CD in the Bose 6 disk changer. It took a while and then spat it back out saying Check Disk. Ok, so it might be my CD...so I try a new one, and them same thing happened. Ok, so maybe it's the 1st CD spot that has issues. I managed to get two CDs in the changer but both were spat out with the same message, Check Disk. Being an '03 I doubt it's under any type of warranty and the dealer already said tough luck (but they did offer to install a replacement but w/o the labor charge...$300, no thanks). Does any one have any suggestions? Or even a replacement I could have?

Whats a CD? ... oh they still use those?!? :p

in all reality though, is it a disk that you burned yourself? because (i have an 04) and sometimes my changer doesn't like those depending on what format it was burned in.

in all this effort to replace your 6 disk changer, why not just do an mod to give you an aux input? can give you a few more music options with an ipod or other mp3 player.

Well I know I won't be using it all that often but it would be nice to have.

The CDs I was using were legit CDs. I even tried a brand new CD I just bought at a concert and nothing.

I do have an iPod FM transmitter that I'm using but still. There are times where I have to fiddle around with it if I'm on a long road trip trying to find stations that will transmit clearly and a CD would be nice.
